Day 6 Update: After days of cold and rain today the sun actually treated the bees to several hours of flight...as the temperatures began to cool and the winds came up, the rain also returned sporadically, but these troopers kept bringing in the pollen just the same...I really hope this is a good sign for the colony. Other than two landing on my nose, they were very willing to let me get a few shots...

Day 6 Update: After days of cold and rain today the sun actually treated the bees to several hours of flight...as the temperatures began to cool and the winds came up, the rain also returned sporadically, but these troopers kept bringing in the pollen just the same...I really hope this is a good sign for the colony. Other than two landing on my nose, they were very willing to let me get a few shots of their efforts. I've noticed that there are several of them that are almost black. I checked the willow trees...they are working there...and also in the hellebores...they don't miss a thing...will keep you posted! Wish them luck!
